This is an annual event that allows 6th-12th graders to compete in science and technology-related competitions. They do projects in categories like the Egg Car, Hovercraft, Invention, Life Science, and Toothpick Towers!  Today was the final day of the event so we took some pictures while we were there of all the activities that were going on.

The event is a project of the Leadership Lufkin class and relies on sponsors and volunteers to be successful.  It's not just for fun, even though that is a big part of it.  Kids can win 1,000 dollar scholarships, $500 for Judges Choice, Metals, certificates and gift cards.

Everyone had a great time, and every time we go out to this event the kids always amaze us with their inventiveness and problem solving skills!   I can't wait till my son is old enough to compete.   He will do his project completely on his own though.  No really, I won't touch it.  lol
