2013 Grammy Nominations Announced

The 2013 Grammy nominations were announced tonight (Dec. 5) live at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and featured anticipated performances by Maroon 5, Ne-Yo, and fun., among others.

The hosts — odd duo  LL Cool J (two-time Grammy winner) and Taylor Swift (six-time winner) — sang and beatboxed (not in the order you would think) before announcing the nominees for the 55th annual Grammy Awards.

The first nomination category announced tonight was Best Pop Vocal Album, creatively sung by ‘Wanted’ country singer Hunter Hayes. The rest of the bigger categories were announced the traditional way, with Kelly Clarkson and fun. leading the pack in the pop categories.

fun. earned a whopping six nominations, a slew of them for their chart-topping hit ‘We Are Young’ featuring Janelle Monae (which they performed tonight), as well as for their album ‘Some Nights.’ Kelly Clarkson earned four nominations for her ‘Stronger’ anthem, as well as it’s corresponding album.
