UPDATE: Despite initial reports that 21 Savage was released from an immigrant detention center on Tuesday (Feb. 12), the rapper has not been released on bond yet. Speaking with The Associated Press, Charles H. Kuck, who operates as one of 21's lawyers, claimed that 21 was granted bond too late in the day to be released on Tuesday. Kuck believes 21 is on track to be released from ICE custody on Wednesday.

ORIGINAL STORY:

21 Savage is a free man once again. After spending time in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following his arrest on Feb. 3, the rapper was released on bond on Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 12), according to TMZ. The rapper's lawyers gave a statement to the celebrity news website following his release.

"21 Savage asked us to send a special message to his fans and supporters -- he says that while he wasn't present at the Grammy Awards, he was there in spirit and is grateful for the support from around the world and is more than ever, ready to be with his loved ones and continue making music that brings people together," Alex Spiro, Charles H. Kuck and Dina LaPolt said in the joint statement. "He will not forget this ordeal or any of the other fathers, sons, family members, and faceless people, he was locked up with or that remain unjustly incarcerated across the country. And he asks for your hearts and minds to be with them."

Responding to 21's release was his co-manager Kei Henderson, who tweeted, "Prayer Works." In another tweet, she gave a shoutout to Metro Boomin, a frequent 21 collaborator who wore a "Free 21 Savage" coat during his performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night (Feb. 11). "Metro's jacket did this," she tweeted.

Savage was arrested following a traffic stop in Atlanta on Feb. 3, and taken into custody when officials found that the rapper is actually a citizen of the United Kingdom and, according to them, residing in the U.S. unlawfully.

ICE spokesman Bryan Cox said at the time, “U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested unlawfully present United Kingdom national Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph AKA ‘21 Savage’ during a targeted operation with federal and local law enforcement partners early Sunday in metro Atlanta. Mr. Abraham-Joseph was taken into ICE custody as he is unlawfully present in the U.S. and also a convicted felon.”

The status of his deportation remains up in the air. However, it has already been determined that should 21 be deported, he will get to keep all of the money he made while living in the States.

21's lawyers say he's been granted an expedited deportation hearing for this case.
