Another day, another record decimated by Adele and her monster hit of a comeback album.

According to Billboard, 25 sold 363,000 equivalent albums in the final week of December, and of those, 307,000 were in pure album sales. Those sales earned the release its sixth straight week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, making it the first to do so since Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream did the same back in 2010.

25 is also the first album released in 14 years to sell more than 300,000 copies in each of its initial six weeks on sale. The last album to do that was Creed’s Weathered back in 2001.

While 25 was generally expected to do well (look no further than the mammoth success of her previous album, 21, to understand the early sales predictions), the specific kind of success it’s seen is largely unprecedented — particularly in a world where people don’t buy albums as much as they used to.

Yet as of December 31, 2015, 25 has sold 7.44 million copies in the United States alone, finishing out the year as its top selling album and earning 25 the title of biggest seller of a calendar year since 2004, when Usher’s Confessions moved 7.89 million copies.

Adele is heading out on tour in 2016 to support 25, but good luck trying to score tickets at face value: The tour sold out online soon after tickets were initially released. Over 400,000 tickets were snatched up (by fans and resellers alike) in less than an hour.
