It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s future got surprisingly cloudy for a series renewed through two more years, as cast conflicts put its thirteenth season premiere in question. We may now know when Paddy’s Pub will finally re-open, however, as reports point toward a 2018 premiere.

When last we heard, Sunny star Kaitlin Olson suggested that Season 13 filming might pick up after her work on Season 2 of FOX’s The Mick; sometime in late spring. Glenn Howerton’s involvement remains in question after NBC picked up new sitcom A.P. Bio, but TVLine nonetheless claims Always Sunny Season 13 is still eyed for 2018:

‘A year’ might be a little harsh. I’m hearing that due to the cast’s extracurricular activities, the FXX comedy is likely not to return with new episodes until late 2018.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia was renewed through at least Season 14 last year, though Olson and Howerton aren’t the only ones with additional projects delaying new episodes. Danny DeVito is also committed to a new Amazon series with Jeff Goldblum, to say nothing of Charlie Day’s expanding film career.

We’ll see how much of the gang gets back together when Always Sunny resumes filming next year, but should FXX think about making Season 14 the last?
