Amy Schumer is about to life her life in plastic as a Barbie Girl.

It's fantastic...or something like that?

Sony is making a live-action Barbie film "which will try to take a contemporary spin on beauty, feminism and identity," according to The Hollywood Reporter. Schumer will reportedly star as the lead in the production. A director for the movie has not yet been named, while Walter F. Parkes, Laurie MacDonald and Amy Pascal are all involved in the project, as is Mattel, the company behind the iconic Barbie doll.

According to THR, Sony originally hired three writers for three separate screenplays a year ago, ultimately settling on Hilary Winston's version, which Schumer will then rewrite with her sister, Kim Caramele.

The movie is being described as "an imaginative family comedy with plenty of heart." The film's plot centers around a "perfect land of Barbies where one woman slowly awakens to the fact that she doesn’t fit it. She is expelled from the idealistic land and journeys to the real world, where she discovers that being unique is an asset."

Aside from her Comedy Central television show Inside Amy Schumer, Schumer also wrote and starred in 2015's Trainwreck.
