I had a chance to meet this year's Rodeo Hero. His name is Donnie Black and he's a pretty cool customer that resides at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center.  I got a picture of him with our rodeo announcer Mike Mathis at the rodeo kick off luncheon yesterday at lunch.

This year they are changing up the rodeo a bit and the big news to me was that they are bringing in History Channels local TOP SHOT Winner Dustin Ellerman performing Wed and Thursday Nights at the Rodeo.  I am not sure what he will be doing for his part of the rodeo, but I am interested!  He will also be there signing autographs.

Tickets go on sale April 9 at Baskin's. Also, you can buy your $1 chance on the Ram Truck from any Lions Club member. The truck will be given away during the rodeo, Saturday, April 28.

Interested in purchasing box seats for the rodeo - contact the Lions Club office at 634-5438 or email Lhlionsc@consoldiated.net

I have been going to this rodeo in Lufkin since I was a kid and now I take my kid.  Always something new and exciting.  For the first time they have a Facebook page this year.   I already liked them and you can do the same here. ANGELINA COUNTY BENEFIT RODEO FACEBOOK PAGE. Click the link and like them.  It's a great place for all the info about the rodeo!
