These may look like simple double-layer brownies, but there are plenty of goodies in the middle.

My favorite room in the house has got to be our kitchen... that's where the food is! It's also where everyone tends to gather when you have company over. Plus, I love to cook and I love to bake, so that's the icing on the cake.

I like to walk in a room with a dish that no one has ever seen before which is why I was drawn to these Gooey Brownie Mud Hen Bars. The name sounds awful, but once you see what's in these babies, you'll got nuts!

It's a simple brownie mix, layered with pecans, marshmallows and chocolate chips. Then a decadent brown sugar meringue seals in all that goodness.

Here's how to make them:

Ingredients:
- 1 Box Brownie Mix + Corresponding Ingredients (eggs/oil/water)
- 2 Egg Whites
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup Pecans
- 1/2 cup Mini Marshmallows
- 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips

Prepare brownie mix in a mixing bowl according to directions on the box. Set aside.

In a separate mixing bowl add two egg whites and beat until stiff peaks form (about 2-3 minutes). Carefully fold in brown sugar until incorporated.

Pour brownie mix into greased 9x9 inch baking pan. Sprinkle pecans, marshmallows, and chocolate chips over the mixture.

Spread brown sugar meringue evenly over brownie layer.

Bake in preheated oven at 350˚F for 35 minutes - (f the top starts to brown too quickly - cover loosely with aluminum foil halfway through).

Remove from oven and allow to cool completely at room temperature.

Now hurry up and eat one before they're all gone!
