Casey Anthony Ordeal Still Not Over

According to local news sources, the infamous defendant from the U.S. trial over the disappearance and death of three year old Caylee Anthony, Casey Anthony says that she will keep on fighting to throw out her convictions for lying to authorities as they investigated the disappearance of her daughter.The appeals judge threw out two of her four convictions stating that "double convictions meant double jeopardy."

Caylee Anthony was last seen on June 16 in 2008, but not reported missing until July 16th. The search for the missing child went on for 5 months until her skeletal remains were eventually found in a shopping bag, less than a mile from the Anthony's home, in a patch of woods. The prosecution sought the death penalty and alleged that Casey had murdered her child.

Prosecutors professed that Casey killed Caylee by using chloroform while covering her nose and mouth with duct tape, and then put the child's body in the trunk of her car before dumping it in the woods. Defense attorney Jose Baez argued that Caylee drowned in the Anthony family pool on June 16 and that Casey Anthony and her father, George, covered up the death.

When Anthony was acquitted in the death of her daughter, there was public outrage as many people believed that Casey was responsible for her child's death. Even if she succeeds in winning over the court of appeals, she will continue to live her life in hiding. There are some things that the public just doesn't forget.
