Another day, another Hollywood lawsuit.
TMZ reports that director James Cameron, his production company, and 20th Century Fox are being sued for stealing the idea for the hit movie ‘Avatar,’ the number one film of all-time. A screenwriter claims that Cameron stole the idea from two different screenplays he wrote and wants $2.5 billion.
That’s right, it’s BILLION, with a “B.”
Well it is no secret that I love award shows. I think that is why I love American Idol, it's like one long award show. The Golden Globes are upon us, and we are going to get introduced to a bunch of non-mainstream movies that we should watch, or in my case just see the promos for during the show
The Golden Globe nominees have been announced! Some of my favorites got nods this year, which is always cool to see. Showtime's Homeland and Episodes, the UK import Downton Abbey (you absolutely must see it!), and Bridesmaids. Check out the full list after the jump.
Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are back in their familiar garb in the first trailer for ‘Men in Black III,’ which is scheduled to drop on May 25, ten years after ‘Men in Black II” and a decade-and-a-half after the original.
And this time, Will Smith’s alien-hunting agent is going back to the beginning of the ‘Men in Black’ program.
It took a movie with a zillion stars to do it, but ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ has finally been knocked off its perch at the top of the charts. Despite blistering reviews, ‘New Year’s Eve’ brought in $13.7 million in its debut, making it the most popular movie at the box office this weekend.
The Twilight star is at the top of the most recent Forbes list of Hollywood's best actors for the buck. It's all based on the actors salary, the movie budget, profits, etc. Movies starring Kristen earn about $55 for every dollar she's paid. And it's young Hollywood who dominates the top of the list. With no new movies opening in wide-release this weekend, there was little to challenge the powerhouse known as ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1,’ which earned $16.9 million and easily kept its berth as the top-earning film for the third weekend in a row.
Lady Gaga and Katy Perry reportedly had their scenes in ‘The Muppets’ cut. Combining Gaga and Perry with alpha female Muppet Miss Piggy would have been too much diva for one film. The multiplex would have spontaneously combusted, so maybe slashing their supposed scenes was a good idea.
‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1′ continued to dominate at the box office this weekend, earning $42 million to easily retain its top spot on the charts.
