Friday the 13th has come and gone, and Halloween might as well be a lifetime away, but it's always a good time for a good ghost story. Here are 5 of our favorite urban legends from around Lufkin and Nacogdoches.

If you're going to call police on your neighbor for any reason, it's probably a good idea to be sure that you don't have anything suspect going on. A Longview man called police about a problem with a neighbor, and well, you can probably guess the rest.

It turns out, not everyone appreciates a guy in a Santa suit passing out candy to kids.  Six Flags over Texas told Santa he had to go! Hopefully this was not the real Santa, and just a look-alike.

Oh boy. Texas can't spell a family member. It's not "wife" because that would just create all kinds 'o trouble. But the most commonly messed up word in Texas is someone close to you.

Autumn is here. Depending on where you are in East Texas, you might not know the Fall season has begun, what with our evergreen pine trees and super Texas heat. Some leaves start to turn brown, pumpkin spice starts to appear on menus, and creepy clowns start popping up all over the news.

Halloween is not far off, and October will be a great time to discover some new "haunts." One haunted spot not far from Lufkin is in a section of a former nursing home. Another haunted space is on the SFA campus.  And apparently, a ghost named Chester hangs out at one building in Nacogdoches.
