Coroner’s Office: Kidd Kraddick’s Death Was Cardiac-Related

Preliminary autopsy reports released earlier today (Monday) by the Jefferson Parish, LA Coroner's Office indicate that Kidd Kraddick's death was due to "cardiac disease."

Officials are still waiting on toxicology reports, though the autopsy performed this morning did not reveal any additional abnormalities. Investigator Tommy Evans noted "heart disease was evident." The investigation is still ongoing at this time.

Kraddick died on Saturday while attending a golf tournament fundraiser for his Kidd's Kids charity outside New Orleans. Kraddick lost consciousness in a vehicle on the way to a local hospital, and was pronounced dead a short time later after arrival.

Kraddick would have been 54 on August 22. His Kidd's Kids charity will partner with the organizers of the golf tournament to hold a memorial event in 2014.
