Drake's OVO Sound label will add to its roster in 2019. The 6 God recently confirmed frequent collaborator Popcaan will be joining his imprint in the new year.

Drizzy made the announcement during Popcaan's 2018 Unruly Fest, which took place in St. Thomas, Jamaica on Saturday night (Dec. 22). During a break in the action the Scorpion rapper took the mic and addressed the crowd with the good news.

"This is something we worked on for a very long time," Drake said. "I just want to let everybody know finally, officially, 2019 Popcaan [is] signed to OVO."

"OVO Unruly," he added before sharing a hug with the dancehall star.

Drake and Popcaan have worked together a number of times over the years. Pop appeared on an early version of Drake's "Controlla" track and the If You're Reading This It's Too Late song "Know Yourself." In 2016, Popcaan came to Drake's defense when fellow dancehall artist Mr. Vegas tried to call out the Canadian star for jacking Caribbean artist's swag and not giving them credit.

The signing of Popcaan would mark Drake's first new artist since he inked Baka Not Nice to a deal in 2017. OVO also singed the artist Plaza in 2017. The roster now includes PartyNextDoor, Dvsn, Roy Woods, OB O'Brien and Majid Jordan.
