Don't just toss those pumpkins. Instead, use them to keep your skin healthy.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, many people are anxious to begin the transition from fall decorations to Christmas decorations. Out with the acorns, leaves and scarecrows and in with the garland, lights and snowmen. Before you toss out those pumpkins, think about how you can use them. Of course, if you pumpkin is the same color as the sidewalk in front of your house, then go ahead and toss it in the trash can. However, if your pumpkin still has some life then let it give your face some life too!

Use those pumpkins in a do-it-yourself face mask.

I'm a huge fan of masks that come from my kitchen. I can control what goes in, plus it's completely natural. And if I accidentally lick my lips when I've got honey and sugar smeared on them, it tastes a lot better than most over-the-counter stuff. That's why I was stoked to find a simple face mask that can be made with pumpkin. You can even customize it to your specific skin type.

All you need for the base of your mask is 1/4 cup of pumpkin and one egg.

You can use this as is or PopSugar.com says you can add various ingredients to help with skin issues. Those with oily skin can add a little bit of apple cider vinegar to curb the oil and those with dry skin (especially during the cold months) can add honey to the mixture to help lock in moisture. Leave the mask on for about 15-20 minutes and rinse off.

Done!

If you notice any discomfort while wearing the mask, don't hesitate to rinse it off. Faces are weird sometimes and can freak out even with natural ingredients on them. Let me know how this works out for you @missradiojess on social media. I've got some small pumpkins in my kitchen I can't wait to turn into the fountain of youth haha!
