Step aside, X Factor. Move over, Voice. Later for you, Sing-Off. The grandaddy of reality singing competition shows is coming back to -- hopefully -- remind people how it's done. The first ad for American Idol season 11 aired Sunday night on Fox during Game 4 of the World Series, and shows judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler, plus host Ryan Seacrest, leading a flock of hopefuls.

The sales power of the American Idol franchise has been revitalized a bit since the debut album from current champ Scotty McCreery debuted at #1. It was the first debut album from an Idol champ to do so since Ruben Studdard's first album in 2003.

I watch all the other shows, but look much more forward to American Idol every year.
