It's time to send the kids back to school. Everyone is busy enjoying the tax free weekend, and buying all those back to school clothes, sometimes it's easy to forget something. One thing that could be even more critical to your kids success in school is proper eyesight.

Sight is something that most of us take for granted.  But how well your child see's things on a chalk or marker board might play a big role in his school year. Most physicians test vision as part of a child’s medical examination. They may refer your child to see an ophthalmologist (a medical eye doctor) if there is any sign of an eye condition. Amblyopia and alignment screenings should be at three years of age, then yearly after school age.

It's those yearly examinations that can sometimes get over looked.  But when the screening is free, why not take advantage of it.  Stop by the Center For Sight in Lufkin on the Loop at 2 Medical Center Blvd across from the post office.  Get a free screenings this Saturday (August 10th) for kids in Kindergarten through High School Seniors from 8am - 3pm. It's their way of giving back to the community and saying "Thank You East Texas!"
