The breakout character of DC’s Suicide Squad is returning to her animated roots. A new Harley Quinn animated series is coming to DC’s upcoming digital streaming service, with the potential for Margot Robbie to reprise her role.

Per Deadline, Warner Bros. has placed a twenty-six-episode order for the new half-hour series, as helmed by Powerless alum Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey. The series is described as an “adult animated action-comedy,” while Margot Robbie will at least be approached about reprising her role in the new series. So reads the synopsis, with concept artwork below:

The animated series will also feature Poison Ivy and a cast of heroes and villains — old and new — from the DC universe. The animated series follows Harley as she breaks things off with the Joker and attempts to make it on her own as the criminal “queenpin” of Gotham City.

Harley Quinn becomes the third series set for the as-yet-undefined DC digital streaming service, behind the live-action Titans and Season 3 of the animated Young Justice. The service is expected to launch in 2018, though it isn’t clear which series will debut when.

We’ll likely hear back on Robbie’s response before long, but what should we hope for from an animated Harley Quinn series?
