Haunting Lufkin Murderer Featured On Netflix “I Am A Killer”

It's kind of creepy when you see your home town show up on Netfilx. Especially if its on a show like "I Am A Killer" and the subject matter is about a murder that took place in your own home town. Granted this isn't a recent occourance, but it goes to show, that even in our little neck of the woods, anything can happen. In this Episode, number 6, if you are trying to find it, on Season One of the touted Nexflix series.

74 year old Myrtle Ruby was murdered in her home, after coming back from church. She walked in on a robbery in progress.  That is something that could happen, but not being shot instantly, and hit in the head, is not.   You would never think that would happen here in Lufkin, of all places. David Lewis sits on death row, right now, awaiting exicution for this crime he committed when he was just 22. Back in 1986 when this all happened, most of us were babies. I know I didn't remember hearing anything about it.

During the show they never mention where it actually happened. They did mention Wells, but it was actutally near Pollock off the Old Wells Highway. Lewiswent inside to find something to steal, and found guns. If you dig online, the Netfilx shows version of what happened seems kind of cleaned up. Perhaps even a little swayed towards David Lewis. But you can watch it for yourself and see why.
