With only a few music stores at our disposal, you might think that the selection is limited in our area. I have been to all the music stores in Deep East Texas, for one reason or another, more than once. Usually I needed speaker cables or microphones for DJ gigs, or guitar cables and strings when I played in local bands, but today was different. It was just sheer curiosity.

After making a quick trip to the eye doctor I was in Nacogdoches and saw Encore Music. I had been there before, begging my mom to take me to get something to play. Drum sticks for band, strings for a guitar, bass, or ukulele - I felt led to go in.

To my surprise, they had "the good stuff." I come from a musical background. I know a quality instrument when I see one, even if I'm not proficient with it specifically. This isn't an ad, it's just informational facts. In a limited market when you see someone like longtime owner Dana Woods make the investment to have professional instruments on hand, you take notice.

They had a nice selection of Fender, Martin Acoustic, Ernie Ball Bass Guitars, Ibanez, and even a few glittery G & L guitars. Really nice stuff, and in a world of ordering everything online, it was downright inspiring.  With musical instruments, like vehicles, you have to see it and use it in person to make the right decision.  If you find yourself in need of something specific for a last minute gig where you need it right then - I'll bet they have it.
