In a recent police report, the Angelina County Sheriff's Office gave details on an incident that happened Friday, February 2nd in Hudson.

According to that report,  a 26 year old male said he was “playing in the mud with his pick-up truck” in his backyard in the 6000 block of Ted Trout.  He had also been shooting targets from the vehicle with a 22 long rifle Heritage revolver.  He put the weapon in his lap, with the “trigger cocked back”.  The truck became stuck in the mud and as he attempted to move the weapon from his lap he grabbed the trigger causing the weapon to fire 1 round into his right thigh.  His truck was stuck in the mud so he left the truck, entered another vehicle on his property and drove himself to a local hospital.

No charges will be filed.
