Jay-Z and Jaz-O Reunite at 4:44 Tour Stop in Chicago

Just a bit over a week after JAY-Z spotted DJ Clark Kent in the audience at a New York City stop in his epic 4:44 tour and hugged it out, Hov took some time to pose with a fellow New York rap legend who helped get him into the industry. The moment squashed any perceived beef in the process. That rapper is Jaz-O.

In the picture, which appears to have been taken backstage at Chicago’s United Center, we see Hov, No I.D. and Jaz striking a pose. There’s no hugging or anything like that, but it’s apparent things are cool between everyone involved. As recently as last week, no one would have expected this picture to be possible. Jay and Jaz had been officially feuding since at least 2001.

Back when Jay rocked gold grills in the late 1980s and early 1990s, he was working with Jaz, who let him rap on his songs like “Hawaiian Sophie” and “The Originators.” If you’re a 2Pac fan, you might remember a mock reporter mentioning on the intro of his Makaveli album. Jaz went on to produce Hov’s Reasonable Doubt track “Ain’t No Nigga,” and he rapped on “Bring It On,” which was also on the seminal album.

Jaz could accurately be described as Hov’s former mentor. Around the time Hov dropped his first album and offered Jaz a contract he thought was fishy, their relationship began to strain. The two began exchanging diss tracks half a decade or so later. Either way, it appears that things are now all good.

In other Hov news, Jay celebrated his 48th birthday this past Monday (Dec. 4), and in honor of the occasion, he let paparazzi into the elevator with him and his wife Beyoncé to take a special picture. Dope.

Check out Hov’s pic with Jaz-O and No I.D. below. Peep a gallery of fans’ reaction to the photo and Hov’s pic with the Queen Bey beneath that.
