As annoying as it can be, your man loving his car is actually a good thing.

Take it from someone who has a husband who loves cars. This kind of love can actually be a good indicator as to how he will take care of you in the future. If your man is in love with his car and knows how to apply that same love to his lady, then you should consider yourself the luckiest woman in the world. How a man loves and drives his car can tell you a lot about how he will treat his relationship with you.

So forget how he treats his mother, here's what you should really be looking for:

    Trash

How clean someone's car can tell you a lot about them. Think about it. Most people are in their car every single day. If it's well maintained, smells good and doesn't have a bunch of trash in it, then you're guaranteed to enjoy your ride to work every day. This can be a good indicator of your marriage. If your marriage is filled with trash, the stench of things just tucked under the seats and never gets cleaned out... You're probably not going to make it.

    Check Engine Light

You know, it's the funniest thing about cars... They have to be maintained in order to function at their highest capabilities. If your man's car consistently has a "Check Engine" light on, how can he expect to have a car with all parts working in perfect harmony? The same goes for marriage. There are a lot of working parts to marriage that must be maintained. If you're not consistently checking all the moving parts, your marriage is going to sputter and might even fail on you when you need if the most.

    Gas Tank Level

I had a friend in college whose father called the "Gas" light an "Idiot Light." He basically meant that if you're forgetting to gas up your vehicle on a regular basis and you need your car to remind you, then you're an idiot. I probably won't call you an idiot for using this light as a reminder however, you put yourself in a vulnerable position when you let your tank get that low. You never know what's going to happen throughout the day and you may need a full tank of gas. There are plenty of surprises that happen in marriage. It's a great idea to have your tank be full on the regular for when those times arise.

    Driving Techniques

Driving is essentially a team effort. We depend on others to be good drivers, just as much as we need ourselves to be great drivers. We can't always guarantee that others will be as diligent when it comes to driving as we are. Obeying the rules of the road is not hard and it's a good way to tell if you're at least trying to be a good driver. In marriage, you can't always guarantee that your spouse is going to be at the top of their game and be diligent with the way they navigate life with you. However every marriage has its own rules to follow. If your man drives recklessly with his car, how can you be sure he won't be reckless with your relationship?

    Road Rage

I heard something a few years ago that struck me, "If a person is nice to you but rude to a waiter, they're still a rude person." It's true. How we treat complete strangers is a strong indicator of our true character. It doesn't matter if it's the other people sharing the road with us or the person working the drive-thru window. If your man suffers from road rage, then he may fly off the handle with you sometimes. Of course, if he gets angry because someone endangered his car and his family, then he is just be protective. But flipping someone the bird just because they aren't speeding like you are.. Yeah that's not a good sign.
