Jones Park Pool is Open…Again!

Jones Park Pool is back up and running again now, but shortly after these pictures were taken in 2013 the pool closed down till now.

The Lufkin Parks and Recreation Department and this time the Temple foundation, and members of the community have once again put in time and effort into the pool at Jones Park, and celebrated the re-opening today with hot dogs and drinks

Everyone was having a bunch of fun in the sun and cooling off as temperatures reached the mid 90's all day Friday.

Per Mike Akridge 3 Lifeguards have been found for the summer season, and I hope that things continue to go well there. The Jones Park Pools old hours were from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Hopefully we will get the new pool schedule soon, and it will be available for all swimmers in the Lufkin area. Lots of residence here have fond memories of swimming in the pool at Jones Park, and now that we have found some lifeguards, that will hopefully continue to be a reality.
