We are just weeks away from Katy Perry taking the stage at the Super Bowl and she will be joined by a special guest.

According to Yahoo.com, Katy Perry has asked Lenny Kravitz to join her on stage for Super Bowl XLIX. The pop super star made the announcement during halftime of the Patriots-Ravens game on Saturday. The decision is indicative of the focus the NFL is going for with their halftime performances.

The idea is to take a young superstar who is popular with the younger crowd, and then put them alongside an older rocker who may appeal to the older generation. Of course, any young kid who has seen Hunger Games loves Kravitz for his performance as the character Cinna.

Super Bowl 49 is February 1 at the University of Phoenix Stadium.
