I honestly didn't think she could do it.  I thought the song would fall off the charts before this happend.  She had to wait for  several weeks, but Katy Perry tied Michael Jackson as the only artist ever to score five #1 hits off a single album.  Her hit "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" finally hit to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Katy is the first female artist,  and only living performer, to accomplish this feat.   Besides "Last Friday Night," the other #1 hits from her album Teenage Dream were the title track, "California Gurls," "Firework" and "E.T."  As for Michael Jackson, it was his 1987 album Bad that produced five #1 hits:  the title track, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You," "The Way You Make Me Feel," "Man in the Mirror" and "Dirty Diana."

It took the late King of Pop just over nine months to rack up his five chart-toppers.  Katy took one year, two months and week to do the same.  But Katy has collectively spent more time at #1 than Michael.
