Nine months after canceling the end of a national tour for complications surrounding vocal strain, Kelly Clarkson is back with a "big announcement" on the way.

Earlier today (June 20) in a live Facebook video, Clarkson — in signature motor-mouthed fashion — explained to viewers that she's finally able to sing again, and that she's excited for the "white girl runs" to come. More importantly, she hinted that there's big news coming Friday, and she'll post a performance daily until then. Each featured song, she noted, has something in common, and the tracks will collectively serve as one big hint.

"I'm just really nervous because I haven't done anything in a while, so I hope this doesn't suck," she says above before diving into a rendition of Otis Redding's "These Arms of Mine," which she specifically notes is featured on the soundtrack to 1987's Dirty Dancing. Redding actually released the song in 1962, and it was his first big, commercially successful single.

If there was any fear Clarkson's voice might have been compromised from overuse, she immediately proves she's still a powerhouse, and executes high-flying runs fans haven't heard in months (the performance starts at about 3:15 if you want to skip the intro).

"I'm excited to sing again," she says after the performance. "Months ago I sounded like crap...[but] this is the coolest announcement for me as an artist."
