It looks like the 2018 Grammy Awards will be starting with a bang, as Kendrick Lamar is set to open the show with an epic performance. According to E! News, the DAMN. rapper, who is nominated for seven categories, will be performing alongside iconic rock band U2, as well as comedian Dave Chappelle.

While there's no word on what songs K. Dot will be performing during the opening set, there's a good chance he will be performing "XXX." off of his Grammy-nominated album, as the band is featured on the song. U2 may even perform "Get Out of Your Own Way" or "American Soul" as well, as they previously enlisted Kendrick as a guest for both tracks back in November.

Chappelle, on the other hand, may have a unique role to play in the opening performance, whether it be possibly lending his standup material or a skit. The Chappelle's Show actor has a good relationship with Lamar, as he interviewed the Compton MC for Interview Magazine last year.

The 60th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony take place this weekend on Sun., Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m. inside Madison Square Garden in New York.

The show will be hosted by talk show comedian James Corden and will feature performances from Cardi B and Bruno Mars, Childish Gambino, Logic, DJ Khaled and more.
