The gates of the new Splash Kingdom in Nacogdoches opened for a very special event yesterday. We here at KFOX955  treated you our listeners to a private party.

Kids and adults alike had a great time beating the heat in the Lazy River. The Kids' Tree House was also a big hit. Even some adults were going down the slides on it. Which was funny because they are designed for kids, and if you are an adult, they spit you out hard, I saw quite a few face plants into the pool! Kids were just barely going down and jumping out.Everyone had a safe and well supervised time. Lifeguards were ever attendant, and I guess as a park rule, ran everywhere.  It was like a mini Baywatch movie as they would sprint to their posts.

Thrill seekers had their choice of 4 choice body slides, and of course the huge slide tower, with 2 giant slides, one of which is completely enclosed. Some of our employees went in the enclosed one, and even though it was rated a "medium" thrill ride, he said it got him good.  Guess he is a little claustrophobic.  Everyone had a great time!

A special thanks to Splash Kingdom and their wonderful staff for all of their help, as well as Extreme Cheer in Lufkin for sponsoring the event.  And, of course, a big thanks to all of our listeners.
