Lady Gaga‘s book ‘Lady Gaga x Terry Richardson’ is a coffee table tome, full of candid photos of the Mother Monster taken over the course of 10 months by the famed photographer, Terry Richardson. Gaga wrote the book’s foreword and engaged in a video reading of said excerpt.

Gaga revealed that she dedicated the book to little monsters — duh! — and read the foreword while lying on her side on a silky grey couch, surrounded by white flowers while dressed in all black. Her shimmery, sequined dress and ornate black cap popped against her blunt white bob, black winged eyeliner and cherry red lips! Gaga looked incredibly flapper-ish while she offered up a soft-spoken rendering of her words.

Some of the key statements in the foreword were that Richardson taught her truly profound things about herself and that shame is an “obsolete notion,” especially when you have a photographer taking snaps of you while you are napping! Richardson really did have unrestricted access to the Mother Monster.

Gaga also espoused the virtues of the man she has waited her whole life to be photographed by and who has a heart so wide that it makes her want to widen her own heart. Aw, how sweet.

She closed the tender foreword by mentioning that Richardson said that “I so real that I am unreal” about her. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

Gaga and Richardson will host a book party in NYC on Nov. 22.
