Have you seen the latest controversial MTV series, Skins?

The new series revolves around teenagers dealing with sex, drugs, friendships and heartbreak in high school...pretty much all the things your parents wouldn't want you to be watching on television.

Since the first hour-long episode of the series debuted on Monday, Jan. 17, it has created quite the uproar with the Parents Television Council. So much, that's they're actually demanding a federal investigation on the show for inappropriate content and for violating pornography laws.

One day after it was reported Viacom executives ordered producers to tone down its racy teen drama, the Parents Television Council has announced it's urging the Department of Justice and U.S. Senate and House Judiciary Committees to open an investigation.

"In addition to the sexual content on the show involving cast members as young as 15, PTC counted 42 depictions and references to drugs and alcohol in the premiere episode," the group wrote in a letter to the government organizations.

Sounds like a pretty serious case. I didn't watch the first episode, but I've seen the commercials for the show and it looks extremely risque - I can't imagine what the show is actually like, nor do I have any intentions of watching it.

Oh MTV; why must you push yourself to the absolute limit? Good luck getting out of this one....

Did you watch the series premiere of the show? What did you think of it?
