I have read all the books and seen all the movies, and now the final Harry Potter movie is set for a release.  I wouldn't say I am a huge fan, but the books were a great read, and the movies are the only ones with cool special effects that my wife will watch with me at the theater.  Our daughter has plans to get together with a group of friends to see the midnight showing. So around my house this is a pretty big deal.  So will Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 be the biggest movie  ever from the Harry Potter series?  Well topping the first one is going to be hard to beat.    I found this breakdown really interesting.

Here's the breakdown of the box office performances of the previous seven Harry Potter films:

* Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (released in 2001):  $317,575,550 at domestic box office, $657,182,021 at international box office, $974,757,571 total.

* Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002): $261,979,634 at domestic box office, $617,000,000 at international box office, $878,979,634 total.

* Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004): $249,538,952 at domestic box office, $547,252,742 at international box office, $796,791,694 total.

* Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005): $290,013,036 at domestic box office, $606,436,598 at international box office, $896,449,634 total.

* Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007): $292,004,738 at domestic box office, $647,876,093 at international box office, $939,880,831 total.

* Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009): $301,959,197 at domestic box office, $632,417,384 at international box office, $934,376,581 total.

* Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010): $294,381,914 at domestic box office, $657,191,231 at international box office, $951,573,145 total.

I think the moves have led more people to read the books, and as long as it gets people reading I am all for it.
