Carve out some time for this Museum of East Texas event.

If you love a party, and you are all about pumpkins, then this one is for you. The Museum of East Texas is getting together with the Lufkin Fire Department for a Pumpkin Party, Saturday, October 28th, from 1-3pm.

Take the kids in their costumes, they can pick out their own pumpkin in the pumpkin patch. All kinds of different sizes and shapes of pumpkins will be availabe, to spur the imagination. Then it's time to decorate! The possibilities are endless, feathers, eyes, pipe cleaners, and glitter! Okay, they didn't mention there wouldn't be glitter, but I'm putting it out there. Bored with pumpkins, decorate some cupcakes. Just don't use the feathers.

Put your hand up with some safety questions, and they'll be answered by our Lufkin Firefighters. Kids will love seeing the fire trucks all lit up. So why is the Lufkin Fire Department going to be there? October is National Fire prevention month. I love a good tie in.

This is all a part of the Museum of East Texas 'Super Saturdays'. Pumpkin Party is just one of the four planned weekends this year. Stop by and have a great time, 503 N. Second St. in Lufkin, across from the Pitser Garrison Convention Center, near downtown.
