Usually when someone gets a tattoo in honor of a fallen relative, you they'll get it somewhere innocuous -- an arm, a shoulder, a calf. But Rihanna isn't just anybody, and when she got inked in honor of her beloved "GranGran," she went big -- and, almost predictably in her case, sexy.

Rihanna was devastated by the death of her grandmother, Clara "Dolly" Braithewaite, this past July. Braithwaite passed away following a bout with cancer, after which RiRi tweeted numerous photos of and with Dolly. It showed the rare, soft, oft hidden vulnerable side to the 'Hard' singer.

Rihanna got the Egyptian goddess Isis inked near the center of her rib cage, just below her breasts. The goddess' head and body are in the center of RiRi's chest, with her wings stretched and extending all the way across the singer's torso. It's a stunning visual and great artwork for sure, but we can't help but wonder if Rihanna was thinking too far ahead when she went under the needle for this. It's going to look pretty bizarre in a bikini as it is, but we're talking something worse: Without an eventual lift, at some point, she might not be able to see her own body art. Here's hoping she's got perky genes.

The 'We Found Love' singer has a slew of ink, ranging from various phrases to a gun to a trail of stars (which former and possibly current flame Chris Brown shares). However, this one may boast the most meaning for the starlet, who wrote, "Goddess Isis- Complete Woman - Model for future generations- #GRANGRANDOLLY - always in and on my heart #1love."

Here's hoping her new ink will help Rihanna memorialize, remember and gain closure on her GranGran.
