Selena Gomez admits that while she may never reach Mariah-style levels of vocal acrobatics, she at least recognizes the limits of her voice and does what she can with it. That's all we can really ask of our celebrities, isn't it? Self-awareness?

During an interview with Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, Selena talked about how far she's come as a vocalist and in realizing what kinds of songs are more suited to her voice. She said, "For this record I wanted to find my sweet spot, if you will. I know that maybe vocally I wouldn't be the greatest singer in the world, but I know my strengths now. I know that I can translate emotion and heart, and I've written more than I've ever written on any album for this record. I have a lot to prove, but I think, for instance, this song is totally in my register. It's smoky and fun and sexy."

Self-awareness is always refreshing, but we're used to that with Selena. In the same interview, she also shared her positive outlook on aging -- a thought not often shared by the majority of female celebrities. Considering the way society treats women who dare to age in the public eye, we don't blame them.

But Selena is excited about the idea of getting older. She said, "I hear my 30s are gonna be good. The older you get, the more wisdom you gain, the more life experience you’re gonna gain. I’m in an awkward stage where it’s like, I like hanging out with older people and I connect with them and then I also feel like a 15-year-old sometimes."

Get ready for your mid-20s Selena, though we're sure your experience will be a little different from ours.
