Selena Gomez says she doesn't like the attention given to her diagnosis.

Earlier this year Selena Gomez revealed that she had been diagnosed with lupus. Despite the revelation, she says she doesn't like talking about it.

"It has been overwhelming and the response has been very supportive, which is nice -- but it still makes me a little uncomfortable. I waited for the right time to talk about it because I am in a great place and I'm very healthy. I'm not trying to be loud about it: It was time to use my platform to help."

Two months ago, Selena told us that she was battle the autoimmune disease, she also said that she had undergone chemotherapy to treat it. Through it all, Selena released Revival, her most adult album to date, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in October. She said she was able to trust herself and go with her gut while making this album.

Selena will receive the Chart Topper Award at Billboard’s Women in Music event Friday. The ceremony will air on Lifetime December 18.
