Just one week after the song's release, Shawn Mendes has already sailed straight into the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 with his brand new, very listenable (and PopCrush approved!) new tune, "Treat You Better."

According to the official chart company, the Handwritten singer can add a fourth song to his steadily growing list of Top 40 singles, debuting at No. 34 on the Hot 100 after selling 73,000 copies of the lead track from his upcoming sophomore record in its first week.

"Treat You Better" now joins 2014 debut single "Life of the Party" (No. 24), 2015 mega-hit "Stitches" (No. 4) and his Camila Cabello collabo, "I Know What You Did Last Summer," which hit No. 20 earlier this year, as certified Billboard Top 40 hits.

"Also can't believe the reaction to Treat You Better. It was scary following up Stitches and im so so happy to know you guys love it," Shawn tweeted upon the song's release.

It's pretty safe to say Shawn's gone and jumped right over that dreaded sophomore slump. Bring on the rest of LP2.
