UPDATE (1/6): The full song is here! Listen now.

This Is Acting, Sia's seventh studio album, has cultivated yet another new identity for the singer ahead of its January 29 release.

On the heels of dancehall-lite "Cheap Thrills," a track originally written with Rihanna in mind, Sia unveiled an 11-second snippet of "Reaper" yesterday (January 5) with notice that the song will be available in full on January 7. And where some of her most recent work has set out to stun, "Reaper," co-written and co-produced by Kanye West, is noticeably more relaxed.

"You came to take me away," Sia sings over steady percussion and a cordial bass line. The snippet is pretty and unfettered, though if the artist's recent remarks about Kanye in Rolling Stone are any indication, its conception probably wasn't so seamless.

"They’ll entice me into a session by saying, ‘Rihanna will definitely be there’ or ‘Kanye will definitely be there,’ but it’s hilarious because I turn up and, almost always, they never come," she recalled. "So I went into the studio to write for Rihanna with Kanye and neither of them showed up and stayed for less than an hour. They had two tracks. They told me what they had wanted. There were notes from Kanye, and I can’t even remember what they were."

Sia's also unveiled This Is Acting's "Alive," "Bird Set Free" and "One Million Bullets" in recent months.

Take a listen to the preview above, and be sure to grab the song on January 7.
