XXXTentacion may be gone, but his music will live on forever. On Sunday (Aug. 19), longtime friend and frequent collaborator Ski Mask The Slump God shared some previously-unreleased audio from the late rapper.

Ski shared the audio on his Instagram page one day after the two-month mark of X's passing. In the clip, X rhymes in a stream-of-consciousness manner over the trap-tinged beat for "Hope," his dedication to the victims of the Parkland High School shooting. The song appears on X's ? album.

The "DoIHavetheSause" rapper captioned the clip, "If You Listen Closely You’ll Hear Jahseh Free styling To Hope Before It Dropped And You’ll Hear Why No One Will Ever Understand The Friendship We Had , I Love You Vrother I’ll Remember To Remember Always."

The two friends met in juvenile detention as teenagers, where Ski would form his Very Rare collective, of which X was a member. X later formed Members Only and welcomed Ski into the fold. During X and Ski's come up, the pair would collaborate often on tracks that have turned into fan favorites like "Take a Step Back," "RIP Roach" and "Off the Wall," among others. In the months before X's passing, the two had distanced themselves as friends, which makes this recording even more heartbreaking to hear.

As far as when we can be expecting new music from XXX, it's still up in the air. Back in July, it was revealed that he had inked a $10 million record deal weeks before his death with Empire Distribution. According to reports, there is a clause in the contract that may prevent his new projects from dropping until October.

Empire CEO Ghazi Shami claims X passed with “a significant amount of material,” but he had yet to put together solid plans to release the music before his untimely death. Back in April, X announced his Skins album would be coming soon. He had also teased a new project callled Bad Vibes Forever.
