Steele’s in Nacogdoches and KFox 955 are helping the Nacogdoches High School Golden Dragon Band raise funds for its spring trip. Steele’s has placed a collection box in its local store to collect donations all this weekend. Steele's is also donating 15 percent of their proceeds this weekend up to 1,000 dollars to the band.

We had a live broadcast there yesterday and we made lots of winners! We gave away a ton of Steel's $25 gift cards and got a special performance from the NHS Band Drum line!

The band will head to Orlando, Fla., May 1-4 to perform at a national competition. Each band member going on the trip will pay $1,300. The band booster organization helps fill gaps for those students who have worked hard at raising funds but come up a little short.

“We want to help ensure they go after working so hard to earn money,” band booster president Rachel Thurmann said. “We don’t want to leave them behind.”
