Sword Swallower Will Be a Highlight at the East Texas Fair

If you watch America's Got Talent, you may have seen him.

Dan Meyer will bring his affinity for sword-swallowing to East Texas this week, and if you're in the mood for a short drive you can grab a corn dog while you're at it. How in the heck does he do that?!

Dan Meyer is a 7-time Guinness World Record holder, he's been part of Ripley’s Believe It or Not, and he was a Top 50 Finalist on America’s Got Talent on NBC.

The East Texas State Fair website says he has many talents and all of them involve putting things in his mouth that seem extremely uncomfortable to most people.  In addition to swallowing swords, he also eats fire and glass, and swallows sabers, bayonets, razors, saws, hedge clippers, and other objects up to 30 inches long.  (Yes, but can he polish off a fried Snickers at the fair?)  Oh, and he can swallow up to 21 swords at once.  Apparently he does it successfully, because he always lives for another show. Do not try those things at home.

Is he nuts?  A great entertainer?  He'll do his thing this Friday night, September 23rd, at the East Texas State Fair in Tyler at 7pm and again at 9pm, and he'll be part of the fair through October 2nd.

Grab a corn dog while you're there.  That's so much more fun to swallow.
