With Regis and Kelly’ for months, and now television stalwart Regis Philbin has announced his final show will be on Friday, November 18.

The show, which started in 1983 as a local New York City program called ‘The Morning Show,’ went national with co-host Kathie Lee Gifford in 1988. Actress Kelly Ripa stepped in as Gifford’s replacement after she left the show in 2000.

REGIS PHILBIN announced on Tuesday's edition of Live! with Regis and Kelly that he will retire from the morning show. The 79-year-old Philbin said he plans to step aside around the end of the summer, but he did not reveal a specific date.
