Yikes! Macklemore had some fans in an uproar after he donned a controversial costume while performing in Seattle over the weekend, wearing a black wig, beard and fake nose that many interpreted as a hurtful caricature of a longstanding Jewish stereotype.
You may not know his name, but if you're on the Internet (and we know you are because you're reading this), you've likely seen some of Vincent Marcus' videos. Thanks to his dead-on impressions and jaw-dropping beatboxing skills, the Texas native has earned Internet fame and currently has more than 1.8 million followers on the video-sharing app Vine.
Wow. Just wow.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis didn't just perform 'Same Love,' their commanding and potent song about same-sex equality, at the 2014 Grammy Awards (Jan. 26). The Seattle rap duo had couples of all ages, races and orientations get married on their cathedral-like stage during the performance.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' song 'Same Love' is nominated for the 2014 Grammy for Song of the Year. It is a powerful and watershed track, since it's about equality for same-sex unions. The rappers are putting their money where their mouths are, since 34 couples are slated to marry during their performance of the song at this year's Grammys (Jan. 26).
I'm not going to lie, I was expecting white wall tires right off the bat. But, as per the norm, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis love a surprise and have done it again...
