The 2013 Oscar nominations were announced this morning and there were plenty of surprises this year. While there were plenty of Oscar nominations we expected - Daniel Day Lewis for 'Lincoln' or Anne Hathaway for 'Les Miserables' - there were also plenty of Oscar snubs. So who were the most notable names that got snubbed when the 2013 Oscar nominations were announced?

The 2012 Oscars managed to include the expected and shocks all at the same time. Odds on favorite, ‘The Artist’, won five awards including Best Picture, Best Actor for Jean Dujardin and Best Director for Michel Hazanivicius. But ‘Hugo’ gave it a run for its money, also bringing home five awards (though none in the major categories).

Time for another awards show. I'm not a big movie person, so I won't be bummed if I miss the Oscar Awards! But if you're a big movie person I'm sure you'll be into the 83rd annual Academy Awards coming up Sunday night on KTRE at 7p.

Thanks to the Oscar's website I've compiled a list of the major categories for you to look at after the jump, because really are you cheering for Tron: Legacy to win in the category of Sound Editing?!!!!
