This is a good reminder for your trick-or-treaters. Stop, drop, and roll.

Texas State Fire Marshal Chris Connealy and his team of fire prevention experts in Austin have put together this informative video, to help you and your kids remember the actual scary part of Halloween can be prevented. There are lots of ways to stay safe this Halloween season. Besides just staying in your house with the covers on your head, nothing is foolproof. Most accidents happen in the home anyway. But I think that is only true because you spend the most time there.

In the video they go over not letting your kids go out in masks that they can't see out of. Another good tip is to use flashlights or battery operated candles instead of open flames on Halloween. Making sure your decorations don't block doorways is also a good one. Sometimes things happen, and if you had to get out quick, and there was a  substantial structure in your way, that could be bad.

I thought the video was pretty informative. I also think it would catch the attention of your kids if you showed it to them. Perhaps hearing from an authority figure would help. Even if the creators of the video, are paying homage to South Park, and the Fire Marshal didn't know. There was even a nod to the movie "IT" with a red balloon in the storm drain.
