Every four years, I get Olympic fever because I'm SO EXCITED for the Summer Olympic Games to start!

Starting on July 27th, I'll be glued to my computer screen (and television screen, when I can) until August 12th, catching up on the latest news and results from the Games.

With an expectation of 205 nations participating in 300 events, the Games of the XXX Olympiad are surely going to be amazing and very entertaining! My favorite sports to watch are Gymnastics and Trampoline, because I trained on those events since I was 5 years old. This year, the U.S. Women's Gymnastics Team is one of the strongest, and I definitely think they're a contender to win the gold medal. Jordyn Wieber and Gabby Douglas are also expected to do well in the Individual Competition.

In the Trampoline event, I'm rooting for my former Team Canada teammates - three-time Olympic medalist Karen Cockburn, Olympic silver medalist Jason Burnett and World Cup medalist Rosie MacLennan.

Karen is going for the gold this time, trying to add to her Olympic Medals collection, where she earned a bronze medal in Sydney (2000), and a silver medal in Athens (2004) as well as in Beijing (2008). Jason, who holds the world record for degree of difficulty in a competition routine, will be looking to improve on his silver medal finish at the 2008 Games in Beijing, while Rosie will most likely place higher than her 7th place finish at the 2008 Olympics.

Also competing at this year's Games is SFA soccer player Kylie Louw, as a member of the South African national soccer team.

Do you know anyone competing at the Olympics this year?
