Amy Poehler’s + Tina Fey’s ‘Sisters’ Movie Is a ‘High School Party Thrown By 40-Year-Olds’

If the world feels a little bit off its axis when former Saturday Night Live co-stars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler aren’t within spitting distance of each other, get ready for some serious straightening out: They’re getting back together, and this time, it’s a family affair.

The duo, who last joined forces on the silver screen for 2008’s Baby Mama, will play adult siblings in Sisters, due to hit theaters this winter. And on last night’s Tonight Show (July 14), they shared the world premiere of the trailer, which finds the two forty-somethings ready to rage in their childhood house one last time before it’s sold.

“It’s a high school party thrown by 40-year-olds,” Poehler tells Jimmy Fallon in the clip, and says the film’s production was sort of destiny calling.

“When we were in Chicago, we ran into an old wizard who grabbed us by the wrists and said if we don’t make a movie every seven years, we’re gonna turn into witches,” she shares before introducing the segment, which finds the fictional sisters flirting with gardeners, trying on clubwear and facing down high school nemeses in preparation for a final blowout. Too late to RSVP?

And if all of that doesn’t sound enticing enough, Maya Rudolph will play Fey’s teenage frenemy, Brinda. “It’s a lot of amazing Maya vocal work,” Fey promises.

Check out the trailer, share your thoughts and be sure to see Sisters when it hits theaters on December 18.
