According to our resident meteorologist, Danny Merrell, the tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico became stronger last night to become Tropical Storm Bill.  As of 7:30 AM, Bill made landfall at Matagorda Bay, near Port O'Connor.

The winds were as strong as 60mph and had gusts of 70mph. They look to be heading toward the Waco/Dallas areas, but for us in East Texas, we've got a Flash Flood Watch through Wednesday morning.  Widespread rainfall amounts of around 2-3 inches could occur with isolated higher amounts.  We'll have winds from the southeast at about 10-15mph for the next day or so in the Pineywoods.  Winds may be gust to near 30 in isolated rain squalls, according to Danny Merrell and his post at KICKS 105.

We'll stay in contact with Danny Merrell, and do our best to keep you updated on the latest weather in East Texas.
