Hans Christian Andersen's "The Ugly Duckling" and Aesop's fable, "The Tortoise and The Hare" come to life as this creative troupe does full-body puppetry with costumes configured from electroluminescent wire. The blackened stage emerges crayon-like creatures that light up the space in a unique dazzling visual experience. Tickets for the October 6th family matinee are $5 for kids and $10 for grown-ups. All seating is general admission. Angelina Arts Alliance is proud to present the 2012-2013 Family Matinee Series, sponsored by Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy and Jordan Family Dentistry. , Judge Howie Mandel exclaimed “If you see that they are playing anywhere, you’ve got to see this – LIVE!” In 2010 they electrified the Temple Theater stage with A Glow-In-The-Dark Dinosaur Adventure in front of a packed house. Besides dazzling visuals, and poignant choreography - creative use of music is this group’s hallmark. You’ll hear classical to contemporary music, ranging from jazz to pop.

Children love these two classic tales. The Ugly Duckling, a tale of being different, personal growth, transformation and acceptance, seems especially relevant, today. The Tortoise and The Hare reiterates the moral that ‘slow and steady wins the race.” This Family Matinee is recommended for kids age 4-9.
