Matthew Wilkening is the founding Editor in Chief of UltimateClassicRock.com. Launched in May of 2011, UCR has become one of the most popular and trusted classic rock sites in the world, with over 40,000 stories and features exploring the past, present and future of the genre's biggest stars. Wilkening also led the launch of UltimatePrince.com, which offers a deep dive on every aspect and era of Prince's career, including separate in-depth stories on over 400 of his songs. He has also contributed to the the books '501 Essential Albums of the '80s' and '501 Essential Albums of the '90s,' and written for other popular Townsquare Media sites including Loudwire, Taste of Country, Diffuser, Popcrush, The Boombox and Screencrush. Prior to his time at UCR, Wilkening spent 17 years in the independent record label world, working with artists such as the Samples, the Radiators, Lisa Loeb, 24-7 Spyz, Stephen Lynch, Bill Burr and the Whitest Kids U Know.
