Billy Crystal to Host the Oscars [VIDEO]

Well my favorite comedian stepped down, and my favorite Oscar host has stepped up!

Billy Crystal just sent out a tweet saying, "Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions. Looking forward to the show."  There's been no word from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences yet, but KABC in Los Angeles has confirmed that Crystal will indeed host the show for the ninth time.

Deadline.com reports that the veteran comedian was the first person approached by Brian Grazer, who stepped into the producer role after Brett Ratner resigned, and that he said yes right away.
